• Managing an organization of 23 people, comprising 2 Engineering Managers, 15 full-time Software Engineers, 2 contractors, a Senior Product Manager, and 3 Product Managers.

  • Organization has been as large as 45 with additional contractors.

​

• Proposed, secured buy-in for, and led requirements, design, and execution of an internal platform to support CS Reps, becoming a key goal for VP leaders in 2022.

  • The product team consisted of 35 people, 3 Engineering Managers, 20 Software Engineers, 10 Contractors, and 2 Product Managers.

  • Product was built on NodeJS, React, Typescript, GraphQL, and AWS.

  • Continuously reported progress to Senior Leadership, delivered the project on time and saved ~10 hours/week for roughly 2,000 internal CS Reps.

• Inherited and ran the Robotic Process Automation group within Indeed, a team of 2 Engineers, 1 Product Manager, and 2 Business Analysts.

  • Moved the team onto an Agile process and streamlined their project intake.

  • Evaluated the current portfolio to determine what we could and should maintain and what needed to be sunset, saving monetary and headcount resources.

• Owned a section of the interview funnel for our role. 

  • Trained other employees to be able to conduct that interview section.

  • Created new questions and retrained interviewers.

  • Made hire/no-hire decisions.

• Created and oversaw an onboarding process for our role that was used across the company.

• Ran and participated in various working groups to make changes to the evaluation rubrics used across levels.

• Managed a team of Software Engineers, everywhere from 4 to 10 at a given time

• Led a team of 5 Software Engineers through design and execution of an internal application that generated benchmark comparisons for customer performance in product offerings against similar customers.

  • Investigated and spearheaded internal usage of Hadoop, Presto, and Hive storage within GCP and an eventual migration to AWS.

• Mentored and grew team members, securing promotions and raises in calibration panels.

Senior Software Engineer | September 2018 - November 2020

• Project managed and executed the technical integration of Indeed’s acquisition of ClickIQ, orchestrating across teams and core products.

  • Created the architectural design of a queue system in Kafka and Java Spring to deliver up-to-date information on jobs from several different sources.

  • This integration changed the internal bidding algorithm for Indeed sponsored jobs, allowing Indeed to provide better value to customers for equal cost.

• Ideated and led a team of 4 Software Engineers and 1 Product Manager to deliver an MLP for a new product segment, a University Insights Tool.

  • Ultimately, this project couldn’t find product market fit, so we pivoted and contributed some features into Indeed Careers, allowing users to view data such as ROI statistics on particular degrees or career paths.

• Solely developed an internal application delivering analytics dashboards to ~400 Sales Reps.

  • Showed data such as a company’s saturation of Resumes in a given state or metro area and trends in Job Seeker relocation, such as where they are searching for a job and where they are searching from.

• Designed, created, and maintained websites for businesses and other professionals on Wix and Squarespace, with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

• Operated with an Agile team in a legacy system on a LAMP stack to identify and fix problems for their web-based product.

• Used Jira, Jenkins, and Sourcetree to maintain a system of continuous delivery.

• Planned and developed new REST APIs in a Symfony Framework and implemented a management system for public API consumption.

• Helped bring to market the company’s first mobile application, using the Ionic Framework, CSS, and HTML.

• Worked as a product developer and Scrum team manager to transition a password management system from plain text storage to a BCrypt hashing algorithm in a large legacy system.

• Taught the CS 2003 (Fundamental Algorithm and Computer Application) class and MATH 2010 (Calculus I Quiz) class. Created lesson plans and laboratory ideas for the students, as well as designing and grading homework worksheets and practice pages.

• Provided help with homework, preparation for tests, and answered any questions for university students taking College Algebra, Math with Applications, Basic Calculus, Pre-Calculus, Calculus I, and Calculus II.

 

Intern – Tulsa Police Department

• Worked with detectives in the Cyber Crimes Unit to locate evidence for active cases on desktops, laptops, external hard drives, and cell phones.

• Disassembled and reassembled several computer brands, including iMac, Toshiba, and home-builds.

• Performed many tasks with the EnCase software, from key-word searches to hash functions.
